His Grace, Archbishop Prof. Solomon Oghenesuvwetoba Gbakara was born into the family of Elder Abel Gbakara of Usiefrun, also known as Urhiephron, and Elder Mrs. Lady Kodje Gbakara of Ogoni-Olomu, both in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
He is a devout Christian and preacher of the Gospel of our Saviour Jesus Christ. For more than three decades, his ministry has touched lives across Nigeria and beyond through churches, conferences, cities, towns and villages, with international ministry extending to the United Kingdom, Italy, the United States of America, Liberia, South Africa and other parts of West Africa.
He is committed to the salvation, strengthening and spiritual upliftment of people through the teaching and preaching of God's Word. His global mandate is expressed in the declaration: Bringing God's Light into People's Destinies.
As a professor of theology and prolific Christian author, he combines biblical teaching with practical leadership formation. His published works include Principles of Raising a Mega Church, Financing the Ministry and The Gospel of the Kingdom, among other Christian literature.
He is the convener of The Elijah/Elisha Generation International School of Ministry, known as TEEGISM, and has continued to raise, mentor and prepare ministers for purposeful, disciplined and impactful service.
Archbishop Prof. Gbakara is married to Bishop Dr. Julien O. Gbakara, an Apostle of God's Word and a full-time minister of the Gospel. Their union is blessed with God-fearing children.
